Since the end of the Second World War, human rights organizations, and various governments all over the world have been scrambling to reach a world of fully obeyed human rights.

On April 16, 1989, demonstrators gathered in Tiananmen Square to mourn the death of a pro-western chinese politician, Hu Yaobang. Not only were the mourning his death, they were protesting for a change in the in the government. Because this was around the time the Soviet Union was beginning to break up, the protestors saw this as an opportunity for change. The protests however, were brutally put down and by June 4; 2,600 people were killed.
Holocaust
The Holocaust, otherwise known as Shoah, was the systematic extermination of approximately six million Jewish people, and other ethnic groups. The Jews were first removed from society and transferred to ghettos, then they taken to concentration camps across ranging from Poland to the Ukraine. In these concentration camps, then they were either worked to death, starved or were killed in mass murders.
Violations in Saddam Hussein's Iraq
From 1979 until 2003 Iraq was under Saddam Hussein's rule. Under his rule the country experienced many human rights violations. During March 15-19, 1988 thousands of Iraqi civilians were killed by poison gas in the town of Halabja. The same year, Hussein's government began a campaign to exterminate Kurdish people residing in Northern Iraq, also known as the Anfal Caampaign. As a result of this campaign, as many as 100,000 people lost their lives.
